ANADIGICS Teams with Global Communication Semiconductors
to Accelerate HBT Program
GCS Open Foundry Service Provides ANADIGICS with
Immediate HBT Capacity
As part of its commitment to expand its RFIC offerings, ANADIGICS
is developing internal HBT (heterojunction bipolar transistor) capabilities
while enabling immediate capacity through an agreement with Global
Communication Semiconductors, Inc. (GCS). GCS will provide ANADIGICS
with open foundry service for HBT wafers as part of a non-exclusive
long-term agreement between the two companies.

Dr. Bami Bastani, President and CEO of ANADIGICS. "After an extensive
search, we selected GCS because of its depth in HBT technology,
superb facility, and management talent. We believe this agreement
will speed up ANADIGICS' time to market for its new HBT products.
" Under the purchase agreement, GCS will provide ANADIGICS with
4-inch GaAs HBT fully processed wafers, with all products designed
and 100% tested at the ANADIGICS facility in Warren, NJ.

to have internal HBT capability in the first half of 2000," comments

Officer for ANADIGICS. "Once we have fully established HBT capability
on our state-of-the-art 6-inch line, GCS can become a reliable,
high-quality second source for our HBT products." "Time to market
