Wang Joins Global Communication Semiconductors as COO
New
COO to Coordinates Technology and Manufacturing at GCS

Global
Communication Semiconductors (GCS) Inc. welcomes David Wang as its
first COO.

hire a person of exceptional talent and experience to coordinate key
technological and manufacturing milestones.
Dave’s background was an ideal fit to our requirements and
we are happy to have such a valuable addition to our team.” comments
Dr. Owen Wu, President and CEO of GCS. As
COO, Dave will report to Dr. Wu and be responsible for both managing
and coordinating GCS technology and manufacturing operations.
Dave
brings 23 years of technical and leadership experience in compound
semiconductor and MMIC to GCS and has spent most of his career with
industry leaders such as TRW, Hughes and Westinghouse. He has made
important contributions to the compound semiconductor technology as
an engineer, operations manager, and project manager.
Dave obtained his Ph.D. from Carnegie-Mellon University and
has been a prominent figure in the development, manufacturing, and
insertion of MMICs for both military and commercial applications.

Global Communication Semiconductors Inc., based in Torrance,
California, is an ISO 9002 certified company. GCS provides compound
semiconductor foundry services to the telecommunication and high-speed
networking industries. It currently offers HBT foundry service for
both InGaP and AlGaAs processes. Additionally, GCS is delivering
optoelectonic devices such as VCSEL and PIN diodes for fiber communication
market and is providing SAW filter foundry service for handset applications.
The company also plans to offer PHEMT foundry services in the first
quarter of 2000.
